On Thursday, May 13, 2010, the Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley held its 16^th Annual Awards Presentation at the V.I.P. Country Club in New Rochelle. “Flavors of the World” transported guests to wonderful international locations by way of wonderful delicacies and tastes from abroad. Guests were invited to bid on a variety of silent auction items, take a chance on a diamond necklace or go home with a table surprise filled with delectable tastes.

This years event raised over $70,000 for the VNA of Hudson Valley, which has been serving the home health care needs of Westchester residents since 1898.

Janine Rose, News Director & Anchor for News 12 Westchester once again hosted the event and presented awards recognizing outstanding service to several distinguished individuals and a well know community organization.

The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 16 from Mount Kisco, received the Community Service Award. This group of dedicated individuals has faithfully supported the VNA of Hudson Valley family for many years raising over $60,000 for Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam in the last ten years.
Dr. William Higgins of Westchester Medical Practice and Hudson Valley Hospital Center received the Ellen Wood Health Care Award recognizing his commitment to the very best healthcare for the residents of Westchester.

Former Westchester County Legislator and VNA of Hudson Valley Board Member Ursula LaMotte was honored for her many years of dedicated service to the VNAHV organization and her commitment to many other Westchester based organizations.

The Dana Reeve Caregiver’s Courage Award was presented to Camille Drago in honor of the exemplary care she has provided to a loved one. Named in honor of America’s most prominent caregiver, Mrs. Dana Reeve, the award was presented by Reeve until her untimely passing.
