The Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley staff of professionals includes several nurses who have all received Wound Care Certification (WCC) by the National Alliance for Wound Care.
Wound Care Certification qualifies these nurses as experts on wound care and, as such, they are better prepared to treat complex cases and to discuss treatment options with doctors.
To complement our staff's wound care certification, the VNAHV has two Wound Management Telehealth systems. These systems transmit images to our wound care nurses and the patient's physician. As a result, VNAHV nurses are able to immediately and accurately assess the wound and provide treatment.
Proper wound care reduces wound healing time, prevention of infections and hospitalizations and an increase in patient's self-reliance in wound care.
