Information and counseling can be provided for the patient and their family on social and emotional issues related to the patient’s illness. The Social worker assists with short term therapy, community resource education and guidance for long term decision making.
In the case of end of life care, the soical worker also assist with palliative care by addressing the psychological, social and spiritual aspects of the illness.
